Dr. Carlos Sevilla

Clinical Director

Dr. Carlos Sevilla is STAR Dental’s Clinical Director. He holds a Specialty in Prosthodontics and a Masters in Oral Biology from Texas A&M University’s Baylor College of Dentistry. During his time at Texas A&M, he was an Assistant Clinical Professor teaching the most innovative procedures for implants, and fixed and removable prosthodontics (crowns and dentures). He was also a practicing clinician at Baylor’s Center for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Clinic in Dallas focused on implant and All-on-4 procedures. Dr. Sevilla moved back to Costa Rica in 2017 and is currently a Professor in Graduate Prosthodontics at the University of Costa Rica while working with patients at STAR Dental. He has rehabilitated thousands of dental implants and prides himself on the work he does for his patients.

Dr. Natalia Guillén

Senior Clinician

Dr. Natalia Guillén is a Senior Clinician for STAR Dental and holds a specialty in Prosthodontics from Universidad de Costa Rica. She is a dental cosmetics expert and has completed more than 5,000 dental implant rehabilitations. She has been active in private practice dental clinics since 2009 and joined the STAR Dental Team in 2017 when she was trained in our rehabilitation process by Dr. Céspedes and Dr. Sevilla. Dr. Guillén is committed to helping all patients achieve their dental goals which is why she has worked at Costa Rica’s public Max Peralta Hospital and been involved in multiple prosthodontics research programs, including a longitudinal study into periodontal disease spanning three generations of Costa Ricans.

Dr. Sergio Feoli

Clinician

Dr. Segio Feoli is an experienced clinician on the STAR Dental team and holds a degree in dentistry from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. He has over six years’ experience in private practice as a General Dentist. His field training assisting Dr. Sevilla, Dr. Cespedes, and Dr. Guillen in All-on-4 and Dental Implant procedures makes him an invaluable member of the team. Dr. Feoli is passionate about improving the quality of life of STAR Dental’s patients, he works alongside our specialists to provide the highest-quality care possible.

Services

All-on-4, All-on-5, All-on-6

These treatments replace a full arch of teeth (upper jaw or lower jaw) using 4, 5 or 6 implants. A bridge of teeth made of either zirconia or acrylic and titanium are attached to the implants, giving you a fixed replacement of all of the teeth on the upper or lower arch, or sometimes both. This is a terrific solutions for denture replacement or for patients with many missing or failing teeth.

Dental Implants

Are composed of a titanium screw, a custom-made crown and an abutment which connects the screw to the crown. This provide you with a single tooth replacement. An implant can also be used to create an implant bridge, which can replace three or four teeth in a row, depending on where in the mouth it is located.

Dental veneers

Are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored material designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve the appearance of your smile. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.

Dental crowns

Are tooth-shaped “caps” that can be placed over your tooth. Think of it like a snug hat for your tooth. The crown restores the tooth’s shape, size, strength and appearance.

Full-mouth restoration

Full-mouth restoration Is a combination of multiple treatments including but not limited to implants, crowns, veneers, root canals, crown lengthening, fillings and tooth whitening to restore the function of your teeth and the aesthetics of your mouth.

My experience at star dental has been fabulous. Not only is Star Dental implant clinic first rate they are affiliated witn CIMA a private hospital minutes away if needed. After my return to New York in August 2024 Dr Sevilla called me himself to insure my recovery was going okay. This year he called and asked for permission to have his assistant help me since he wanted to leave the country with his family and even offered to cancel his trip if I wasn't comfortable. His assistant was extremely qualified and took excellent care of me. To finish I think they're great and can't emphasize enough how strongly I recommend this clinic.

My wife and I just returned to Florida, following my dental procedure with Star Dental. I totally recommend them. My initial contact to Melissa who resides in Seattle, was very thorough in my initial contact. Doctor Carlos even contacted me directly to discuss the mess in my mouth and a solution. No part of the process was high pressure. What sold is, was the fact that they wanted to preserve as many of my good teeth as possible, where with other places, it was never presented……

On my first visit, they took out all the “Junk” and placed implants where I had no teeth. A total of 7 implants. Then I went home to let the implants heal. I also had two bone grafts. I am a sissy when it comes to dental work, and paid a little more for “conscious” sedation in the initial extraction process. This is highly recommended if you are like me and pain! 4 months later, we returned for the final process. I did spend many hours in the chair, but Dr Sevilla and Natalya are both docs who take the time to do it right. So to sum it up, I got 7 implants, zirconium crowns on those, AND one more on one of my good teeth. So a total of 8 crowns. The price on all of this including our airfare, was probably a third of what we would have paid in the states, with NO skimping or cutting corners. We were treated as if we were their #1 customer, and were alloted all the time needed for the procedure. I also infortunately needed 4 cavities taken care of….my fault for not flossing well in between my first visit and last! I highly recommend them. We most likely will go back in April for a check up, and more of a vacation. Spend the time……save the money……and know you are in good hands. The ONLY issue I had was the language barrier and my poor Spanish. The doctors did speak fluent English, which really helped. Thank you Star Dental. You exceeded my expectations, and any fears I had going in.

The Care and the procedure that I went through was top-notch. However if I could do it again I would opt for the gas. But I'm satisfied with the work I'm so happy. I had two upper Bridges implanted. I'm totally satisfied with the professionalism and the care that was provided to me. I would recommend Star dental to anyone who's looking to get implants and not afraid to travel outside of the US.
